why no mention in your vast archive of thomas pynchon - his latest 'inherent vice' is the stoner book of the past 50 years. Are you really moving to NY? i watched 'palm beach story' the other night - great film, i have two different biography's of preston sturgess if ya want a lend. stephen
I read Inherent Vice and liked it a lot. It's the stoner book since Vineland really. I can think of nothing better than moving to NY right now, but I don't know if it's gonna happen. Have you seen Lady Eve?
No it would be good to disappear anywhere frankly. I have dvd's of all the Preston Sturges movies I think. Someone burned me his box set. Lady Eve is fab. My 23 year old son said pavement sounded dated at Golden plains - can this be true? I've heard you are expert on pavement. i am fan of stephen malkamus. Hope NY works out. stephen c
stephen, I would ask that your son sees them in a different environment to get the full effect of their timelessness. Personally I was too “incapacitated” to enjoy them at golden plains. Man the two sets Pavement played at the Palace were astoundingly perfect. 27 solid gold classics. Just jaw-dropping.
